Camp Renovation 2012
Camp has been rebuilt so it can serve many more generations of kids and families!
All of the aged program cabins, including three at the waterfront, have been rebuilt, as well as the Eagle’s Nest gym and the administration building. Modest staff housing has been added in order to attract and keep high quality staff. Other major elements of the project include an amphitheater, a boardwalk along the waterfront, and a road down the hill to the waterfront that provides access for emergency vehicles and people with limited mobility.
Summer Camp
Camp Beech Cliff will remain, first and foremost, for the benefit of local kids. Our summer day camp program will certainly be a better program with the new facility, but it will remain a day camp program. The fees for summer camp will not increase in 2012, nor do we intend to increase the number of weekly campers.
New Facilities = New Opportunities at Camp Beech Cliff
Our new facilities will also bring new opportunities to expand and enrich what we offer to the local community. For example, year-round facilities and improved access to camp and the waterfront will make it possible for us to address unmet needs for school-age youth. Camp’s new facilities also include spaces that will be useful resources for community groups and schools – there is a conference room in the new administration building, a meeting room in the main waterfront building, and an outdoor amphitheater by the playing field.
Reopening in 2012
We'll be moving into our rebuilt camp in June 2012, and we look forward to seeing everyone at our Open House on July 1st from 2 to 5PM! Please come tour the camp with your friends and family at the Open House and see what Camp Beech Cliff is all about.
