quasar camp kayakingTo Campers: “Take a breath… doesn't that feel nice? Welcome to living! We will be doing a lot of it this summer as we explore beautiful Downeast Maine. The rest of the staff and I are very excited to help you make the most of your time on Mount Desert Island. Quasar camping will emphasize strong community, perseverance, and good spirits. We can't see it all, but what we do see will take your breath away. Pura vida!”
— Jeremy, your Quasar Camp Coordinator

For starters, most days are scheduled into morning and afternoon blocks for in-depth programming. This allows for experiences and adventure, both on and off our campus. Quasar campers have opportunities for extended experiences, including off-site group trips exploring MDI and Acadia National Park, and special service projects for camp and our community. During the weekly schedule, campers will also have choice blocks to focus on specific interests in the traditional program area offerings. Through programming and social experience, campers will have the chance to develop more responsibility and independence.

Coordinator: Jeremy Hyde is our new Quasar Camp coordinator. Jeremy comes to CBC with several years of camp experience, particularly with the Boy Scouts of America and its COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) and rock climbing programs. Jeremy completed the rank of Eagle Scout by the age of 15 and graduated from MDI High School.  He is currently studying Psychology at the University of Maine.
