Campers enjoy a variety of special events throughout the camp season such as Fracky Fridays or a trip to Sand Beach. In any given week, some of the following sorts of activities might occur:
Friday Performances – Campers in the Performing Arts program may be given the opportunity to showcase their hard work from the earlier days of the week in a camp-wide final Friday Performance, open to the public.
Fracky Fridays! – Every Friday will feature special activities that will break up the routine and provide an opportunity for campers to experience something new and different. Friday afternoons will be reserved for all camp ‘theme activities’ such as ‘Pirates Day’ and ‘Halloween in July.’ The all camp activities are designed to bring the camp community together and give our staff and campers a chance to let their imaginations run wild!
Visit to Sand Beach – This is our way of appreciating summer in Maine, beyond the fresh waters of our wonderful lakes. What is summer on an island without a trip to the ocean beach to really get refreshed? Campers have a great time cooling themselves in the saltwater after playing a little football or volleyball on the beach, busy themselves with building a sand sculpture or burying their buddies’ in the sand, or just getting a load of the hot summer sun (filtered through sunscreen, of course!).
Family Fun Days – On two Wednesdays during the summer we open camp to the entire community. Invite your family and friends to enjoy the experience of camp for the entire day or on a drop-in basis. Everyone is welcome to participate in camp activities and to partake in a free lunch. Please note that your camper does not need to be registered for the particular week when the Family Fund Days occur, but any child not registered for that day must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 2012 Family Fun Days will be on July 18th and August 8th.
